Fly Tier's Corner

Welcome to the Fly Tier's Corner
This page will be featuring an archive of local patterns as they appear in RipRap, the mostly monthly newslettter of the Kiap-TU-Wish chapter. Representing the best "secret" flies for our local waters (and favorite destinations) as tied by our chapter members and guests.

If you have a fly you'd like to share, please contact our webmaster, Greg Meyer or RipRap editor Scott Hanson.  We'd love to see what "secret" flies you have in your bag of tricks, and we'll publish photos of them on our website and in RipRap.

Fly of the month
Our fly of the month was submitted by chapter board member Greg Meyer. Here are a few things Greg mentions when describing this fly.

“I originally designed this fly for the Bighorn to be a dropper off a dry fly. It did really well for me on the big browns and rainbows of the 'horn.

The next year I was fishing the early season on the Rush to a few bulging browns, and was out of midge emergers. I found this fly in my box, greased the leader and had a great day. Try this fly as a trailer off a pink squirrel or orange scud, you'll be  surprised–– Greg Meyer
